hypotaxy
Definition
- Taxonomic or nomenclatural subordination. Four categories: anhypotaxy, diplohypotaxy, monohypotaxy and polyhypotaxy. If used in a phylogenetic taxonomic frame, they correspond to different topologies of trees, with or without polytomies, thus partly reflecting the resolution of the tree. (Dubois & Raffaëlli 2009)
