Definition
- In zoological nomenclature, a rule proposed for implementation as a Rule in the Code, but which until this is done does not have the force of law. It may be followed by the zootaxonomists and zoologists who wish so, especially in domains where the Code is silent, such as the taxonomic allocation, validity and correctness of class-series nomina. (Traditional term, definition by A. Dubois)
