Definition
- Qualification of a nomenclatural system, the Ambiostensional Nomenclatural System (AONS), which makes use of a double or alternative way of allocating nomina to taxa according to 1) the presence of or 2) the absence of intragenera in the metrotaxon: i.e., either 1. relying only on onomatophores (conucleogenera) (see Metrostensional) or 2. relying on both onomatophores (conucleogenera) and onomatostases (alienogenera) (see Orostensional).
