Definition
- Qualification of a nomenclatural system in which ranks are assigned to all nomina of supraspecific taxa. In a consistent such system, parordinate taxa are always assigned to the same rank, the hierarchy of ranks used in different parts of the classification is the same, and all taxa are referred to ranks, but some of these qualifications at least are missing in pseudoranked and unranked nomenclatural systems. (Traditional term, definition by A. Dubois)
