Duplostensional Nomenclatural System (DONS)
Definition
- Nomenclatural system which makes use of a double or alternative way of allocating nomina to taxa according to whether the nomen is 1) a sozonymorph or 2) a distagmonym: either 1. relying on both onomatophores (conucleogenera) and onomatosases (alienogenera) (see Orostensional Nomenclatural System) or 2. relying only on onomatophores (conucleogenera) (see Metrostensional Nomenclatural System).
