- The Code (rules) that regulates the nomenclature of animals and organisms traditionally studied by zoologists, prepared by the International Commission on Zoological Nomenclature. It was first published in 1905 as the Règles Internationales de la Nomenclature Zoologique. (Modified from Hawksworth 2010)
